- the Auctions are the second best way to make neopoints
- you can find any item under the sun as long as someone is selling it of course
- you will learn how to use the Auction Genie
- you will learn how to know the items TRUE value before bidding
- you will learn how to bid on an item and re-bid if nessesary
- you will learn how to view the items you bid on to see if someone has put in a larger bid
- you will learn what the auction Status means
- you will learn how to put your items up for auction
- you will see screen shots of actual auctions to help you
- by the end of this section you will be a master of the Auctions

- the Auction Genie searches in all the auctions for the item you are searching for
- just type in the name of the item as seen in the picture below
- please ensure that you click the tab that says "identical to my phrase"
- this will ensure that the Genie only searches for what you are looking for
- so lets find out how to bid and re-bid on an item

- now you see the auctions regarding the item you searched for Example: picture below

- when it states [NF] this means ONLY neofriends of the owner can bid on it
- now if the item was a cheaper than 100,000 item you would goto the Shop Wizard to find out it TRUE value (see "How to: Use the Shop Wizard")
- you can also check the Island trader if the item is over 100,000 in the wizard to find its TRUE value (see "How to: Use the Island Trader")
- after you find the auction you want to bid on press the name or picture of the items and you will go to the bidding screen shown in the picture below

- to bid on the item just click bid because it puts the next price in for you
- it will tell you if the bid was successful or not. If it was successful it will tell you as shown in the picture below

- now lets move on to viewing you bids and rebidding if nessesary

- when your ready to view your bids go back to the main auction screen and then click on the link "My Bids"
- this will show you all your bids and you can see if you are still to top bidder
- you can click on the item again and then follow the same steps as above to re-bid on the item
- you can see how much time is left in the auction you are bidding on in this screen as well
- remember most of the bids are in the last 30 minutes of the auctions so get ready to out bid the others by typing in a higher price than the one that is there already
- you can only bid 5,000 NP over the current bid plus the increments. So if the auction is at 1,000 increments then you can bid 6,000 above the current bid
- what I do is wait and guess how much people are going to bid and I might bid 10,000 over current bid but I wait 6-8 second when there is 10-15 seconds left but the others have to get the price up that high so you are taking a chance but I have won many auctions this way
- the whole point is to get the item for the lowest possible price BUT UNDER its TRUE value so you can make a profit later when you sell it
- next step is the closing of the auctions and the auction status screen

- when the auction is closed and final you will receive a neomail from the Neopets Team stating if you won the auction or not
- but this only happens after the auction is closed and final
- the auction could be closed but not final because it has not been processed yet
- to find out how long it will take to process goto the main auction page
- there you will see a link called "Status"
- by clicking on this link you will see the rough time that it is taking to process the auctions
- if it states 24 minutes then this means that 24 minutes from the time the auction closed the item will be given to the buyer and the neopoints given to the seller
- now the final step

- first you have to be in "Your items"
- click on the item and you will be given options. You should pick the option "Put up for Auction" as seen in the picture below

- once you are done press the select button at the bottom
- you will now see a screen come up with the pricing options for you to fill out before putting the item in the auctions
- fill it out as seen in the picture below. If you put 500 neopoints as the starting price and then the incremenets at 500 this means the first bid someone make will be 1,000 and the bids go up 500 neopoints each bid

- you can also decide the length of time the auction will be running. The longer the auction the higher the price SHOULD go
- when you are statisfied with the pricing and time click "Auction Item"
- you can check if people bid on your item by going to the Main auction screen and clicking on "My auctioned items"
- you will be notified on the winning bid by neomail
- Congratulations you now know how to use the Auctions to make neopoints and have learned how to put your own items up for auction
